Do you really need protein to build muscle ?

I read that after you work out you have to eat something with a lot of protein because it helps build muscle

What happens if you don’t eat protein after working out ?
Will it make a difference ?

It is true that eating protein helps build muscle but it is not true you NEED to eat something with a lot of protein after you work out.

If you are just trying to get ripped i wouldn’t worry about it. just don’t eat foods high in carbohydrates or calories. It also helps to eat lots of fruit and vegetables. also eating things high in starch such as noodles or bread will give you lots of energy to workout. But don’t eat right before you workout this can give you very bad cramps. Also if you eat a starch and not do something active it goes straight to fat if you do something active it helps build mussel.

It will only make a difference if you don’t eat protein at all. eating it after or before doesn’t matter.

      good luck

You don’t need protein shakes, you can eat normal food with protein. Tuna, chicken, eggs, etc.

But yeah, you need protein for muscle recovery and growth.
